Standards and disclosure
Independent coverage, clearly labeled partnerships.
Sixes and States is a media company that also does paid work for organizations in cricket. This page explains how we keep the two apart.
Paid work is labeled
Anything an organization pays for is marked Partner on the post, video or page where it appears.
- Partners don’t approve or edit our coverage of news, and they can’t buy a story.
- Not being a client never costs anyone a story.
- When we cover an organization we’ve done paid work for, we say so in the story.
Our academy series is free
Academies can’t pay to be featured in our series on America’s cricket academies. It’s a census, not advertising, which is why the list can be trusted.
How we report
- We go to the source: council agendas and minutes, official announcements and the people involved, not just other articles.
- Facts and figures we show come with their source.
- Interview quotes are checked against the full recording before they’re published.
