About
Born here. Grew up playing. Now counting.
I’m Amal Bhatnagar. I was born and raised in the US, grew up playing cricket, and I’ve spent my career in data science and venture capital. I studied data science and economics at UC Berkeley and wrote Data Driven, a book on how venture capital adopted data science.
I started Sixes and States because cricket in America is growing faster than anyone is covering it. The big money gets headlines. The local leagues, academies and grounds that decide whether the sport sticks get almost none.
Sixes and States exists to change that: to tell those stories, to count what nobody else is counting, and to help the organizations and brands building American cricket reach the people who play and watch it.
What we do
- Coverage: short-form video and, soon, written stories about the leagues, academies, grounds, players and front offices building the sport.
- Powerplay: a weekly newsletter on the business of American cricket.
- Work with organizations: event and season coverage for leagues and tournaments, Reach Audits that show who your posts actually reach, and market entry help for brands. That work is always labeled Partner.
